Those who have UIS now have anadditional 12 months to use Medi-Caldental benefits until July 1, 2027.After this date, UIS will receiveemergency-only Denti-Cal. Patientsshould use this time to scheduleroutine dental services.
UIS = Unsatisfactory Immigration Status 1
Assets = The things you own that have monetary value. Assets that countinclude bank accounts, cash, and more than one house or vehicle.

Assets that don’t count include the home you live in, one vehicle, householditems, some savings
Non-MAGI = Non-Modified Adjusted Gross Income, which includes people65+, with a disability, and/or living in a nursing home

Qualified Non-Citizen (QNC) = Includes Lawfully Permanent Resident before5-year waiting period, refugee, asylee, battered non-citizen, and others

Full-scope = Routine services covered for free or low cost5

Those who are in the non-MAGIgroup may lose their coverage iftheir assets are higher than $21,000(for individuals) or $31,000 (forcouples) starting July 1, 2027.

Those who have UIS will now haveto pay a premium of up to $50 permonth to keep their Medi-Cal,starting July 1, 2027.
Those who have UIS may need tochange their doctor because somedoctors will not take their Medi-Calinsurance, starting Jan 1, 2027.Patients should contact their doctorwith questions about their coverage.
