Home Stretch | EveryOneHome.org • Season of Sharing (SOS): one-time assistance to help people experiencing an unexpected housing crisis, such as delinquent rent, mortgage, or utility payments. Season of Sharing (alamedacountysocialservices.org) • Alameda County Community Development Agency Rapid Re-Housing Programs: REPORTS - Housing & Community Development Department - CDA - Alameda County (acgov.org) • Catholic Charities of the East Bay can help with back rent or utilities (max 3 months) provided the applicant can substantiate a one-time crisis that is no fault of their own, and has a source of income moving forward. Email: Housingservices@cceb.org, phone: 925-825-3099 • Keep Oakland Housed: homelessness prevention program that provides emergency financial assistance, supportive services, and care coordination to residents of Oakland who are at risk of losing their housing. The program is designed to stabilize households long-term by addressing both the immediate financial crisis and the underlying factors contributing to housing instability. • City of Berkeley Housing Retention Program: City of Berkeley residents at risk of losing housing can apply for grants. • City of Fremont Stay Housed: provides temporary rental assistance to eligible individuals and families renting in Fremont, Newark, or Union City who are struggling to pay rent because of a financial hardship. • Stay Housed Bay Area launched in October 2023 and seeks to help people at risk of homelessness access a wide range of resources meant to keep them housed • ECHO Housing Rental Assistance Program assists AC residents with move-in costs or delinquent rent due to a temporary financial setback o Restrictions: must be a family with minor children, a veteran, a mother in her second trimester or later, a person 55 or older, a disabled adult, a DV survivor, or an emancipated youth Utilities/Water • PG&E discount programs: o California Alternate Rates for Energy Program (CARE). A monthly discount of 20% or more on gas and electricity. Participants qualify through income guidelines or if enrolled in certain public assistance programs. o Family Electric Rate Assistance Program (FERA). A monthly discount of 18% on electricity only. Must be a household with three or more people. Participants qualify through income guidelines. • PG&E Relief for Energy Assistance through Community Help (REACH) can provide an energy credit for up to $300 based on the past due bill • Spectrum Community Services Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): LIHEAP is a federally-funded program to help low-income households pay their energy bills. Assistance is in the form of a direct payment to the utility company on behalf of an eligible applicant. Eligibility is based on the household’s total monthly income. Federal LIHEAP funds are for households with low incomes and high energy costs, prioritizing households with elderly, disabled persons and/or children five and under. Modifications include grab bars, raised toilet seat adapters, shower stools, handheld showers, stair railings, smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detectors Cleaning and Hauling • Waterfront Cleaning provides janitorial services.
