Overview
SF State Inclusion Pilot Project
For Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
•for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are
interested in being included in the academic and social components
of campus life
•students select their courses from the regular course offerings
•in 2018-19, program starts with one student; in spring 2021, pilot
project welcomes a new cohort of three students
•students have taken courses in music, nutrition, dance, English, early
childhood development, cinema, kinesiology, and design
The SF State Inclusion Pilot Project provides:
•opportunities for inclusion in the academic and social components of
campus life
•a person-centered planning process
•individualized plans of study aligned with students’ personal,
academic and career goals
•academic coaching provided by trained peer mentors, social support,
educational accommodations, and other customized supports
•tuition & fee waivers
•guidance to faculty on inclusive teaching practices
