About Us
The Schreiber Center is a specially
designed program that focuses on the
emotional and mental health of adults
with developmental and intellectual
disabilities. Staff at the Schreiber
Center are dedicated to helping people
with developmental disabilities reach
their goals and live happy, healthy,
independent lives.
The Schreiber Center is funded by
Alameda County Behavioral Health
Care Services through the Mental
Health Services Act (Prop 63). It is a
collaboration between Alameda
County Behavioral Health Care
Services, the Alameda County Public
Health Department, and the Regional
Center of the East Bay.

This project brochure is funded by the Mental Health
Services Act (MHSA) in partnership with the Department of Developmental Services.
Our Services
•Assessment for Specialty Mental
Health Services: The Schreiber team
will meet with the client and their
support team to discuss challenges and
issues.
•Case Consultation: The Schreiber
Team will help identify strategies and
resources to support the client’s goals.
•Psychotherapy: A safe place for clients
to express themselves, cope with
challenges, and find ways to reach their
goals.
•Medication Support: A psychiatrist is
available to discuss options for
medications.
The Schreiber Center was named after Dr. Mary Lu Schreiber and Dr.
Robert Schreiber, two well-loved psychiatrists who provided services
for thousands of individuals with intellectual and developmental
disabilities in Alameda County.
To be eligible for services, clients must
meet all of the following*:
•Live in Alameda County
•Be at least 21 years of age
•Be a Regional Center of the East Bay
client
•Have a covered behavioral health
insurance plan
•Have a covered mental health
diagnosis
